Seed One

A sudden gust of wind comes to blow one seed among the stones. The summer season is ending. A severe storm causes a landslide. Fall arrives and days get shorter. It’s cold. Snow falls to protect the earth and the little seed from the north wind and frost. Cotyledons expand and a very small root penetrates deeper into the soil in search for mineral salts. Small leaves simply radiate covering themselves in a thin fuzz.
